Te sorprenderá recibir una carta en estos tiempos de comunicaciones fugaces como estornudos, pero debo empezar explicando que la palabra escrita ofrece un asidero que trasciende lo coloquial. “Verba volant, scripta manent”, decían los romanos.

Sé que desde que fuimos novios en el instituto apenas hemos hablado. También sé que fui injusta contigo, una mala decisión dentro de una carpeta vital llena de malas decisiones. Pero he seguido tu carrera y sé que te licenciaste en Derecho (tu sueño). Ahora eres un eminente jurista, mientras yo…; en fin, yo terminé con un hombre que me pegaba. Si miro hacia atrás, han sido muchos años de maltrato y arrepentimiento. Hasta que hace pocos días tomé una decisión…
Néstor, no lo merezco, pero solicito tu amparo y tu perdón. Hasta aquí esta misiva sin certificar, te cuento más detalles en persona. Necesito un abogado.

Eso de las comunicaciones fugaces como estornudos es sublime. Y ahí queda, como decía Lucio Cornelio Balbo, prétor y cónsul gaditano del emperador Pompeyo Magno.
