Amparo era sonámbula. En ningún momento fue consciente de la ilicitud de su delito, disparó a su marido en un acto maquinal e involuntario. Ésa iba a ser la línea de su defensa. Recogió la carpeta con los datos preliminares de la clínica. A las diez de la noche tenían cita para someter a su defendida a una polisomnografía, un estudio del sueño para certificar su condición de sonámbula. Contaba además con el testimonio de los hijos que avalarían la condición de la madre, así que el juicio pintaba muy bien. Estaban a punto de colocarle a Amparo las sondas cerebrales cuando se escuchó un estruendo. Miguel se despertó de la siesta y miró enojado a su mujer. Acababa de desmantelar su estrategia de defensa con un simple estornudo. Ahora despierto tenía que idear otra, y la verdad, lo veía todo muy negro.
