Julio Montesinos Barrios Lo conocí al empezar la carrera de derecho. Era rubio, alto y delgado, como una espiga de trigo. El viento cimbreaba aquellas magras carnes, impulsando su flemático errar por la misma órbita que yo recorría para ir a la facultad. Un indigente filósofo. Lo puedo certificar con nítidos recuerdos. Como cuando, caminando carpeta en mano, lo encontré pidiéndole limosna a una estatua. Al preguntarle por tan absurda acción, respondió como hiciera Diógenes milenios antes.
—Me ejercito en el fracaso.
La sentencia me atravesó el alma. Un estornudo mental sacudió mi cerebro, despertando la conciencia dormida. Desde entonces actué al amparo de sus reflexiones. Conseguí con esfuerzo darle la vuelta a continuos suspensos, reveses sentimentales o pleitos perdidos.
Han pasado veinte años. Como profesor adjunto, todavía coincido a veces en la órbita del ya viejo mendigo y le veo pedirle a la estatua, quien ha terminado cediendo y dándole monedillas.

You know, everyone in the Swiss watch industry said this was going to be a big year.
