Una cosmopolita isla del mediterráneo albergó una prestigiosa feria del libro. Los editores convocados suscribieron un acta que, en documento privado, encargaba a nuestro despacho una peculiar misión: evitar que los duendes de la imprenta sembraran de erratas las obras que serían expuestas.

Dirigimos una carta notarial al gremio que congrega a estos espíritus fantásticos exhortándolos a que se abstuvieran de sus legendarias prácticas. En caso contrario los demandaríamos por daños y perjuicios.

La feria resultó un éxito.

Días después se presentó en el bufete una de las pintorescas criaturas. Aunque confesaba haber insertado furtivamente un soneto en un poemario afirmaba que, precisamente por ello, el libro se había convertido en un superventas. Estaba dispuesto a relevar al escritor de la obligación de confesar que aquel sublime poema no le pertenecía. Exigía a cambio el pago de regalías que, en monedas de oro, serían depositadas al final de un arcoíris.
