Mientras el señor vestido de negro le miraba fijamente esperando su declaración – “debe ser el Juez”, había pensado al entrar – no podía dejar de rascarse disimuladamente, metiendo sus pequeñas manos en los bolsillos. En uno de ellos había guardado su soldado preferido, el de la bandera, sobre la que había escrito en letras rojas: “DEBES SER VALIENTE”. Lo miró de reojo y recordó lo que le había susurrado su madre: “Eres el único testigo, no lo olvides”. Entonces fue capaz de decirlo: “Mi padre siempre le pegaba, y yo le odio”.
