Modestos entre gigantes
Mikel Aboitiz Aquel mentecato de Iriarte achicaba los ojos enojado, contraía su boca conejil y arrugaba la nariz como asqueado por un olor repugnante exudado con premura por su cerebro al alumbrar el menor atisbo de acudir a la vía conciliadora. Acto seguido espetaba a sus enemigos que pronto tendrían noticias de sus abogados. Contaba con un ejército de juristas para litigar por lo civil o penal. Y siempre ganaban. El paso correlativo de sus víctimas tras un enfado de Iriarte era esperar aferrándose a algún argumentario legal en que cimentar sus intereses, pero lo cierto es que Iriarte —por mano de sus sicarios colegiados— aplastaba a todos en la lona de los tribunales. Hasta que se topó con la horma de su zapato: Iturriarte. Desde entonces pleitean entre ellos, mientras los demás letrados nos ganamos los garbanzos contemplando su batalla legal desde la barrera, apuntándonos honrosas faenas de igual a igual.

That remains true with the relaunch line-up, as well. The Seiko 5 moniker represents affordability and youthfulness. It isn’t a single watch, but an entire line link of watches. There’s the SNKL23, a watch that Jack Forster proved looks far more elegant than its price would suggest. Then there are the SNK800 series watches; that’s what most people think of when they think of modern(ish) Seiko 5. The sub-brand has been around since 1963, so of course there are countless references.
Combine them together, add in my favorite complication and a cute little panda, and I find it pretty hard to be mad at this creation. I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical at first. I’m not exactly full of whimsy day-to-day, but this little guy in the picture below has warmed my cold, steeled heart, and I’m rooting link for a great result for a good cause.
